Well it won’t be the July 2nd, 2010 release date we had hoped for, it’s still only a few weeks out from now. The Droid X will be [presumably] hitting store shelves, it will definitely be available online, on July 15th, 2010, according to Verizon’s announcement and the mass email they’ve sent out to subscribers.
Specs and more info after the break..
Verizon Wireless recently released a teaser video for the Droid X which includes the classic mechanical Droid theme in red. Said video contains quite a few easter eggs, which can be found by playing the video frame-by-frame. You can check out the breakdown of the video here.
A July 2nd, 2010 release date is plausable, not only because of the could-be evidence found here, but also because that date happens to fall on a Friday – a well known release date for may mobile phones as of recently. We can only hope this turns out to be true!
Check out the new teaser after the break..
That’s right! The image above depicts a retail iPhone 4G, the first image of this sort to date, mind you, said to be photographed in the stockroom of the Walmart it’s to be sold at.
FYI: The “CDMA” you see in the background
I could spend half an hour summarizing what Taylor Wimberly over at Droid and Me has done, but since the hands-on review was so well laid out, I’m simply going to link to the review itself. I will, however, include the YouTube video of the hands-on below. More after the break..
Think back to March, what were you doing? Reading about the new Nintendo 3DS? Push forward 12 months into the future – March 2011 – and you just might have a chance to own your own Nintendo 3DS, according to Nintendo of America’s president Reggie Fils-Aime,
“The one thing, for sure, is that we will launch in all of our major markets by March 31, 2011.”
He also went on to state that the design we’ve seen at E3 is not the final design, but that was announced during the press conference. Reports lead us to believe that button placement is likely to be altered.
Xbox 360 Kinect is now listed on Microsoft’s Online Store for $150, the same at Walmart and GameStop online, although Walmart has it a couple of dollars cheaper than the other two. Not much else to say here, that and the image above sum it up pretty well.
Personally? I think it’s a little expensive, and the November 4th release-date seems pretty far off, what are your thoughts? Leave a comment below.
Barnes & Noble recently dropped the price of their Nook eReader from $259 to $199 – for the 3G model, the new WiFi model is still only $149. How did Amazon respond? By dropping the price of their Kindle from $259 to $189.
With any luck, Barnes & Noble will respond by dropping the price of the Nook another $10, to match Amazon’s new pricing scheme, but only time will tell if that’s the case.
AT&T has just released it’s second Android Smartphone, the HTC Aria. The HTC Aria includes a decent amount of features for the average user and has a reasonable price. At only $130 with a qualifying two-year service contract and a $100 mail-in rebate, it’s sure to please AT&T users looking to jump ship to the Android OS.
Hardware details can be found after the break..
